Parkview Neurologic Rehabilitation Residency

The Parkview Neurologic Rehabilitation residency program is a 13-month clinical residency that begins in June of each year. The program is designed to facilitate a well-rounded experience treating patients with neurologic conditions across the continuum of care, from ICU to outpatient rehab. The resident will have the opportunity to participate in several interdisciplinary specialty clinics including Falls Clinic, ALS Clinic, and Movement Disorders Clinic with neurologists, ATPs, OT, SLP and pharmacists. The resident will have the opportunity to become certified in performing ASIA assessments.

Parkview Neurologic Rehabilitation provides services to patients with a wide range of neurologic diagnoses. The residency mentor staff includes therapists with multiple specialty certifications including Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialists, NDT Certified therapists, Certified Stroke Rehabilitation Specialists, Certified Brain Injury Specialists, LSVT Certified therapist, ASIA Certified therapists, as well as staff devoted to clinical education. The Parkview Neurologic Residency program is an ABPTRFE residency in candidacy.

Applicants must meet the following criteria prior to beginning the residency:

  • Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program
  • Eligible to practice physical therapy based on state of Indiana requirements
  • Submit a letter of recommendation
  • Complete an essay question
  • Meet all eligibility requirements from Parkview Health System
  • Be an APTA member (Neurologic Physical Therapy section) and in good standing
  • Possess a current CPR certification

Applicants must have earned their Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or be in the final year of completing their DPT. Upon completion of the residency, the candidate will then meet the requirements to take the NCS exam.
