About Footprints Fort Wayne

In the fall of 2017, speakers from Oakland, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati were invited to Fort Wayne to share in a community forum how these cities were addressing infant mortality. Feedback from this event indicated that our community was interested in learning more about the Cincinnati model. Throughout 2018, a core team has been working on assessing the data and collecting community input. In September 2018, an Advisory Council was formed to officially launch the Footprints Fort Wayne initiative, look at all available data, and begin to discern where we, as a community, could make the biggest impact.

Our goal was to develop a single, highly-focused agenda to address infant mortality to be shared by everyone working on the issue. We did this by both looking at the data and listening to the community. We believe that the solutions are found in the balance.
