Since 2015, Bob Rohrman Subaru of Fort Wayne has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), and on Monday, July 9, for the third year, the pair chose to generously give to Parkview Health. Team members from the car dealership stopped by the newly opened Parkview Cancer Institute (PCI) to donate items to patients.

“This donation reinforces the commitment and strong partnership between Parkview and our community,” Gail Place, nursing services manager, Oncology OP Infusion, Parkview Cancer Institute, said. “Outreach from businesses such as Subaru, wanting to support our cancer patients, is very meaningful and uplifting for our patients. It provides hope and sends the message to the patients that they are not alone, we all care about them, and we are here to support them.”

Subaru visited patients during their infusion therapy to hand out the donations. In total, the company donated 80 blankets, 50 arts and crafts kits and care cards with inspirational messages.

“By the close of 2017’s partnership, we had partnered with 478 retailers, over 400 hospitals and reached over 40,000 patients through Subaru Loves to Care! In 2018, we are partnering with 497 Subaru dealerships across the nation to deliver blankets, arts and crafts kits and messages of hope to patients.” Alison Schumacher, Donor Development Director for the LLS, said.

Subaru and LLS are already planning to top those numbers in 2019 and look forward to next year’s donation. We would like to thank the team members who made this extra special delivery possible.
